Original art and handmade pieces for your home.

Everything here is made by hand in the studio. The paintings are all originals. The handmade extras (bags, coasters, small home objects) come from the same process, the same palette, the same care.

Original Paintings

Affordable originals, not reproductions

There are no prints in this studio. Every painting listed is the actual original, and it is sold once.

What makes these affordable

Gallery prices for original paintings are high partly because galleries take 40–50% of the sale. This studio sells direct, which means the savings go to the buyer rather than the middleman. A 4×4 inch miniature runs between $45 and $85. A 12×12 inch zodiac animal is typically $150–$220. A larger abstract, 16×20 to 18×24 inches, is $300–$500.

Those prices reflect the actual time, materials, and skill in the work — not a markup to signal prestige. If you see something you want but the price is a stretch, write to us. We'd rather find a way to get a painting to someone who genuinely loves it than let it sit.

How it works

Buying an original painting

One painting, one buyer

Every work in the gallery is a single original. When you purchase it, you own that specific canvas or panel. The physical object with the actual paint on it. We don't sell the same image twice, and we don't produce prints of sold work. This is how all original art works, but it's worth being clear about it upfront.

Sizes and what they mean in a room

The miniatures (3×3 to 5×5 inches) work best in clusters of three to five, or displayed on a small shelf or ledge rather than hung flush on a wall. They're quiet pieces that reward close looking. A single miniature on a large wall tends to get lost.

The zodiac animals at 10×10 and 12×12 inches hold a wall solo. They have enough visual weight to anchor a small gallery wall or to be the sole image on a mid-sized wall between two windows. They work in pairs facing each other across a fireplace.

The larger abstracts, 16×20 and above, need space. A 18×24 inch painting wants to be the only thing on that wall, or the centerpiece of a gallery arrangement with much smaller pieces around it.

Caring for an original acrylic painting

Acrylics on canvas or panel are durable, but they're not invincible. Keep paintings out of direct sustained sunlight — UV light yellows varnish and fades pigment over years. Dust with a soft, dry cloth (never wet). If a piece is on an unvarnished surface, avoid touching the paint film. Most works from this studio are finished with a UV-resistant matte or satin varnish, which is noted on each piece's label.

Shipping

Paintings ship flat (miniatures, small panels) or rolled for larger canvases over 16 inches in the smaller dimension. Rolled works require re-stretching on arrival. This is standard practice and not difficult; we include instructions. All work is bubble-wrapped and boxed. US domestic shipping is calculated at checkout based on size and destination.

Custom commissions: We take a small number of custom commissions each month. If you want a zodiac animal in a specific colorway, a miniature of a subject that isn't in the current gallery, or an abstract in dimensions that fit a specific wall, email us at [email protected] with the details. Turnaround for commissions is typically three to five weeks.

Handmade Extras

Beyond the canvas

The studio makes a small number of handmade objects alongside the paintings. These are practical pieces with the same visual language as the gallery work.

A natural canvas tote bag hand-painted with a bold zodiac tiger motif in orange and black acrylic
Painted Bags

Zodiac tote bags

Natural cotton canvas totes hand-painted with zodiac motifs in acrylic. The same graphic style as the zodiac painting series. Heat-set so the design holds through washing. One animal per bag; most of the twelve are available in rotating stock.

Home Objects

Hand-decorated coasters

Unglazed ceramic coasters painted with abstract patterns from the colour studies series — terracotta, charcoal, warm white. Sets of four, sealed with a water-resistant finish. Small enough to give as a gift; distinctive enough to keep for yourself.

Decorative Objects

Painted storage boxes

Small pine boxes with hinged lids, hand-painted on the top surface. Abstract grounds with occasional gold-leaf accents. Good for a desk, a bedside table, or a bathroom shelf. Sturdy enough to actually use.
